Although football has been played for hundreds of years, with all kind of variations and tactics, Spain came up with yet another tactic at the recent Euro 2012, the false forward. It is playing a non forward, in this case a midfielder, in a forward role. Torres, their real forward, played only occasionally, appearing in a few matches, mostly as a substitute. We all know Spain won the Euro beating Italy 4-0 in the final but surprise surprise, Torres won the golden boot award as the top forward during the Euro! How about that?
