The reciter from Iran was judged the best in the recently concluded Tilawah al Quran in the man's category. Not really surprising as Iran has produced some of the best reciters in recent years. I have always love listening to them. A few years ago I went to Iran and while there, had the opportunity to listen to some of their reciters on TV. I know some basic but still couldn't tell wether it was sikah or nahwan or hijjaz or ras or ...... That's how good they are. They improvise!
The Tilawah was also intresting as we get to listen to a few other Qiraats other than the Qiraat of Hafs an Asim which we are used to.
