The oldest mosque in Malaysia

Masjid Kg Hulu, Melaka. This mosque was built in 1728, during the time of the Dutch rule. The roof is multi tiered, perhaps influenced from the Chinese. Not surprising since the man who was commissioned to build it was one Dato Shamsuddin bin Arom, who was originally from China . Only the wooden pillars and the roof structure is original it seems. The rest such as the wooden walls have been replaced by concrete.
