4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-4, 3-5-2, 3-3-2-2, 5-2-3, 3-3-1-3 etc

You may be thinking that the combination of numbers above has all to do with money or something but actually, it is about football. Yes, football, the simple game that is becoming more and more complicated and very technical. Keep on playing the simple game and you'd be thrashed. The game has evolved so much since it was introduced that it can now be played in so many different ways. Most teams play 4-3-3 because it is supposed to be safe, home or away because it is neither an attacking or a defensive lineup. Manchester United during the days of Tommy Docherty played 4-2-4 all the time, be it home or away. Holland during the heydays of Cyruff played 10-1 or 1-10, whichever way you see it. Teams normally play 4-4-2 when playing away but switched to 4-2-4 when playing at home. But whichever way you play, you need to have the players to do it. Even with all the stars at his disposal, Scholari still complained that he don't have the players to play 4-2-4 at Chelsea. I guess that's why Benitez is all so confused. Keep on changing the players and the way Liverpool plays because he just cannot decide on the best system for Liverpool nor the best eleven!
