Too much to handle

The Chinese New Year holidays are over. KL is back in full swing. The Chap Goh Meh was a few days ago. The sound of fire crackers could be heard, even from where I'm living in Gombak. That signals the end of the celebrations. Its back to work for everybody or back to school for the kids.
Things are getting very unpleasant for one MDB from what I am reading. They have been eating more than they can chew. That's what happened when the planning is not done thoroughly. The risk taken was just too much to handle.

Its so convenient

In January and February, the prayer time is a bit later than usual. As an example, the morning prayer is at 6.10am. That's too late for me to make it to the mosque. I need to be ready early as I prefer to leave the house by 7am. If I go to the mosque, I won't be back till after 6.30am. That's too little time to get  myself ready to go to work. When I was riding my bike, time was not a factor. I can leave anytime I want. Now that I'm driving again, I have to leave early as after 7am, the roads will be heavy with traffic. Alhamdulillah, now I am living in Gombak, it is not so bad. If I were to still live in Cheras, I would still continue riding to work. Its so convenient.

Delicious

Enjoying Ikan Patin tempoyak in Temerloh. Decided to stop by again on the way back to KL. An opportunity not to be missed.

Charged up the battery

On Tuesday, I'II be back at work in sha Allah. Took leave on Monday to avoid going back home on Sunday, knewing from past experience, it will be a crawl with holiday makers making their way home after the long Chinese New Year holidays. Hopefully by Monday, most of them would have gone home, giving stragglers like me a smooth travel. Its been great, being away from the house for a while, from work as well. Now I'm roaring to go, having charged up the battery, work wise I mean.

Last day

Too soon the holiday is about to end. Today we will be driving back to KL. On the way back to KL today, will stop over in Temerloh to try again the Ikan Patin tempoyak in sha Allah. Its so delicious I have to try again. After all, don't know when is the next time I'II be passing this way.  The trip to Kuantan yesterday was good. We had lunch by the sea at Beserah, a fishing village known for its fresh fish. We also drove through Telok Cempedak, Kg Batu Hitam beach and stop over at the State mosque for prayer. All in all, it was a worthwhile trip.

All in the mind

Its Chelsea to lose the Premier League. They have built up such a lead it looks impossible for the other teams to catch them, except Man City. Unless they suffer a dramatic loss of from in the closing stages, its going to be them the winner come May. On the golf front, it seems that Tiger Wood has lose it. He can't find his game. His struggling so bad he can't even make the cut. What happened? Injury could have played a part. Or is it all in the mind?

Holiday time

Its holiday weekend in Gambang Resort city, Pahang. Will be here for three nights till Monday. On the way, stopped over at Kuala Gandah, the elephant sanctuary near Lancang. However, as both Akid and Maisarah were asleep, we went only up to the entrance gate, have a look see and drove on. Reaching Temerloh, stopped for Ikan Patin Tempoyak at the popular Go Bang restaurant. It was near Friday prayer time so the restaurant was not serving until 2pm. We did a take away, stopped again for Friday prayer at a mosque in Temerloh town before heading straight for Gambang. Reached Gambang almost 4pm, having started from KL at 10am. That is the story of our journey so far. One thing I must say. The Ikan Patin Tempoyak was really delicious.Worth a day trip from KL.

Come to think of it

Come to think of it, when I retired about four years ago, working again was never in the plan. I wanted to retire, for good. I wanted to enjoy life as a retiree after having worked for so long. However, I plan but Allah decides. Somehow I find myself working again. Even harder than before. When before I leave the office at five thirty, now its at seven or even later. When before I never had to face the board, now its a monthly thing. When before I was just going through the motion, now I'm reading a lot, learning a lot, picking up new things everyday. Come to think of it, I really need this job although when I first accepted it, it was with a bit of reluctance. Simply said, I need the cash to keep rolling into my account.

Why its happening

The photos still refused to appear. I really don't know what happened. Now I have to send the photos from my phone using g mail. Then I saved them in the computer. Only then can I upload on to this blog. How inconvenient when before all I needed to do was take photograph using my phone. After that I can immediately upload them to this blog. Hmm....... Sometime the new technology confound us all. Today it can tomorrow it cannot but all the time you don't know why its happening.

Holiday tomorrow!

Suddenly the photos that I take using my phone don't appear in the link to this blog. Don't know what happened. So now I have to save them in the picture gallery before I can upload to the blog. Very inconvenient. Just as it has disappeared all of a sudden, I hope it will reappear again all of a sudden. Anyway, tomorrow will be a public holiday because of the Chinese New year celebrations. Already the roads are free and flowing. I look forward to the holidays as well as I'm taking the family somewhere. Somewhere I have never been to!

Still enjoy riding it

These days I'm back to driving the car to work. My motorbike is left at home most of the time. I am paid a car allowance so I don't want to create issues by not driving the car. Alhamdulillah, I am now living in Gombak, the traffic jam is not so bad. It is okay most of the time. Its nearer too so it is working just fine. As for the motorbike, its left for weekend riding now like going to the nearby shops, taking Akid and Maisarah for a ride in the evening, for wedding etc. I still enjoy riding it. It gives me much pleasure.

Don't feel in top shape

Feeling a bit under the weather today. Maybe it was because last night I slept late. It had to do with Akid. He didn't sleep the whole day, then fell asleep at 8pm. He woke up at 10.30 pm. After that he was wide awake until about 4am in the morning. What it all means is that I had to keep up with him throughout the night. Lucky thing he is not a baby anymore. He knows how to take care of himself. I don't have to keep a strict eye on him, only occasionally. Even then, it must have taken a toll on me for today I don't feel in top shape.

Same place different circumstances

I have been at Bintulu airport so many times I have lost count. One thing for sure, its always a happy time when I'm waiting for the flight to KL. On the contrary, its a different feeling when arriving from KL. Same place but different circumstances so different atmosphere.

Pudu again

Went to Pudu again yesterday to have a look around. As usual, there were many people as well as many things being paraded for sale. Some are cheap. A mini fan I bought in Bakun can be obtained in Pudu for half the price. Off course its China made with some funny brand name. There are power banks being sold for RM10 plus many other bargains. The place is well and truly alive. Those into electronics would find it a haven. I can spent hours just browsing at the goods on the shelves. Its a great place to while away the time.

Waiting time at the airport

Next week will a short working week due to the Chinese New Year holidays on Thursday and Friday. The schools are already starting their holidays today. There's a few things I need to settle while in the KL office next week. Hopefully, I can complete them by Wednesday cause after that I won't be back in the office till next Tuesday. Don't know if I have to come back to Bakun again anywhere in the near future. I hope not cause then I can concentrate on my work in KL which has been left unattended or semi attended. Right now, I am at the airport waiting for the flight home.

Shocked

While in Bakun, I was shocked by the news of the passing of one of Malaysia's foremost sport commentators, Hasbullah Awang. Then came the greater shocked. Nik Aziz is gone forever. Although he has not been well for quite sometime already, the news nevertheless cause a chill up my spine, such was the man. A great loss to the nation. A very sad day indeed for everybody.

At the intake

After four days in Bakun, I'm now at the airport once again waiting for the flight to KL.

Akid / Maisarah

Missing my two babies. I know they miss me too. I thought having children at so late an age would be a burden but Allah is great. They have given me so much pleasure. They keep me occupied. One thing for sure, there's never a dull moment with them around.

Hello

Ready for bed after some exercise at the gym

Counting the days

I am counting my days in Bakun. Been here since Monday night. Today is Thursday. That means yes...tomorrow I'm flying back in sha Allah….ye..ye. One thing good about staying in Bakun, I have the time to exercise. For two straight nights I have been having a good time playing footsal and Sepak Takraw. I feel great after some exercise. I feel healthy. Back home, I can hardly find the time for these activities. Need to find the time somehow. By the way, my back is much better now after I stopped sleeping on the soft bed.

Let's see

Been looking at places to go for the coming Chinese New year holidays. Not too far and not too near but somewhere interesting for me and the family. I also need to avoid the heavy traffic that is sure to happen during the holidays. Those are the criterias I need to be aware of. Otherwise the holiday can quickly turn into a disaster. Imagine getting caught for hours in a traffic jam! Finally I chose Gambang Holiday resort in Pahang. Other places caught my interest as well but some were fully booked while some were way beyond my budget. I think its a nice choice. Not too far and not too near. Its a place I have not been to. It has everything for everybody. Anyway, let's see.

Back ache

I'm having a bad back. I think it must because I slept on a soft bed while in Bakun last week. Then last night again I slept on a soft bed after arriving in Bakun. That compounded the problem. Anyway, I have been aware of my limitations for quite sometime. Therefore I know why I am having this backache so I take care not to sleep on the bed anymore. For tonight and tomorrow night, I will sleep on something hard. Hopefully the back will not get any worse, if not better. I also know I cannot sleep on the cement floor cause then my whole body will ache. Hmm….that's the way it is as you get old.

Good morning from Bakun

Monday morning traffic is always bad. However, from Gombak to my office, it is manageable. I can live with it. It took me only about half an hour to reach the office, even with heavy traffic most of the way. There are many places in Gombak I have yet to discover. When time permits, I would really love to explore the area. Its a new place for me, having lived on the other side of KL for such a long time. Now I am on a side of KL that is quite foreign to me.
I arrived Bakun about 9.20pm last night. Headed straight away for a meeting that continued till almost midnight. Only after that was I able to rest in my room after the tiring journey.
On the local political scene, one of the most eagerly waited moment will arrived this morning. The verdict is about to be given. Whichever way it goes, it will have an impact, locally and internationally.

I do my work

Back in the PJ office for the morning. I have a meeting at 10 am which should be over by 12 noon after which I will rush to the airport to catch the 4.10pm flight to Bintulu. Its going to be Bakun this week till Friday.  That's the way it is going to be I guess for the moment. Its tiring flying to and back and then making the three hours journey to Bakun from Bintulu. Anyway, my two years break have done me a world of good. I don't really feel it as much as before. I do my work. Sometime I enjoy it.

Time for a break

Time for a break.

Its the same this time around

They were having a good time too going from one wedding to another. With them around, things never get dull. They saw many things, discover new places, their curiosity caused them to not sit still. They will wander around the tables, go outside the wedding hall, run everywhere, play the lift button etc. I can never have peace with them around but then, without them, things will be dull. I have gone through it before. It was fun. Its the same this time around.

Wedding galore

Wedding everywhere. I spent the last weekend going to four weddings. From morning till night, I was here, there and everywhere at wedding celebrations. At one place we went, there were three weddings going on at the same building.

Busy weekend

Its early morning in Bakun. I'm packing up while waiting for the car to pick me up and leave for Bintulu to catch the plane back to KL. I'II be in KL for the weekend before coming back to Bakun again on Monday. It will be a busy time in KL with wedding invitations on Saturday and Sunday. These days weddings are held all year round. No more waiting for the school holidays. It seems that this month is a favorite period for reasons unknown. Maybe they like January and February.

Pudu

I have heard about Pudu and cheap electronic / electrical goods a long time ago but never had the opportunity or reason to be there. In fact, they say anything under the sun, electronically / electrically that is, is available in Pudu. Last Tuesday I was there as my wife wanted to buy a radio. Sure enough, when I got there, I saw rows of shops selling electrical goods. There seem to be all kind of everything. I didn't have much time to see and look around as the kids were with me. However, now that I know the place, I will certainly go again. This time, I will make sure I have plenty of time to wander around.

Bakun again

I'm back in Bakun since yesterday. However, this time, its only for a day but I will be back next week for a much longer stay. Four days from Monday till Friday. Yesterday, I reached Bakun almost 11pm because I took the 4pm flight from KL to Bintulu. Been over a month since I was last here. That was after the end of my four months stint here in mid December. Since then I have not been back although I was in Bintulu a few weeks ago.

When is my next holiday?

Looking after the two kids

The two kids are always up to something. Keeping up with them can be tiring sometime. Akid is quite okay now in the sense that he knows a little bit what is dangerous and what is not. Maisarah however, is still clueless. She will do what ever she wants to do. It is up to us to make sure she is not in any danger. Akid has been sleeping late recently. 2, 3 or even 4 am before he sleeps. That is really late. Its taking a toll on me. I need to correct his sleeping pattern soon. Maisarah is okay. By 11 or 12, she will be sleeping.

Wait till last minute

Many things I need to do today but at the back of my mind there's always this feeling that I still have another day to do it as I'm on leave till tomorrow. Ended up doing nothing except laze around the house. That's the problem with me. Always wait till the last minute. Seldom do anything until I have to. I needed a house to stay in. Therefore I bought a house. After that I don't need another house anymore. That's why I only have one house when I could have many houses. Anyway, now I am on a lookout for houses. I need to buy two more. One to rent out and one to stay.

Its a lazy day

The only game I watch in this edition of the Asian cup was the Japan vs UAE match. Japan lost on penalty kicks even though they dominated the game. As such, they were knocked out of the tournament. After that I didn't see any more matches except for the final yesterday.
Petrol rices have gone down again as of today. It seems the glut in the oil industry is not going to end anytime soon. Thus, the prices are going to continue being low for quite a while. Not that I'm complaining anyway.
Took two pills before sleeping the night before. In the morning, I woke up feeling much better. The aching in my body has also disappeared. I always knew I cannot sleep on the cement floor. Yet I did while taking a break in between painting the house. I woke up with my body aching all over.

Its been a hard days night

Time for a little rest come night time. Even then I had to contend with the two babies. As long as they are not sleeping, I cannot let off my guard. They are up to their mischief as always. I have to make sure they are safe.

Weddings here and there

Attended two weddings events yesterday. One in the afternoon and one at night. One in Setapak and one in Shah Alam. One was a former colleague in the company I am working now while one was a friend from my days in England. Next week there's more weddings. Four in fact, on Saturday and Sunday.
