Not in our minds

Been sometime since I was last in my office. Anyway thanks to the internet and the e mail, I was not actually totally shut out from the ongoings. I still received the e mail as usual. How different it is from before when the telephone was the only line of communication when you are not in the office. Come to think of it, how did we survived all those years. I cannot imagine how it was like although I was actually one of them. When I first started work, the computer was still in its infancy. The typewriter was king. Handphones? It was not even in our minds!

Kucing rarely

On the plane I enjoy watching the Korean, Japanese or Chinese action movies. They are fast paced, the fighting action looks real and the story line unpredictable. That's why I enjoy watching them. Other than that, I will try to sleep if I my eyes can close. I don't know how many times already I have taken the KL Bintulu route. Becoming a regular. Those days while in TNB, I travel to many places, not just one. Now in Sarawak hidro, its just one place, Bakun. No, three to be exact. Bakun frequently, Bintulu sometime and Kucing rarely.

The plane is already landing

Just back from yet another trip to Bakun. This is the fourth and the last for this month, I hope. Back and forth, back and forth, its taking its toll on my body. Lucky thing the road to Bakun from Bintulu is much improved from previously. Otherwise, it will be a bumpy ride all the way, adding to the agony. On the plane, I just cannot bear the food anymore. All I do now to pass the time is to watch the movies. At least that will keep me occupied. Before I knew it, the plane is already landing.

Another view

One Sunday morning

Akid and Maisarah sleeping soundly at 8am in the morning. It is at times like this that I can have some peace. Once they are up, everything will change. The focus will have to be on them. Akid for example will do whatever he wants to do. He wouldn't know if it is dangerous or not. It is up to us to watch over him. As for Maisarah, she will start to cry, asking for us to carry her or wanting her ration of milk.

Looks really attractive

Yesterday was at the Az Zahra hospital in Bangi for Maisarah monthly check. She was given two injections. The bill? RM550. Wow! Last month it was the same thing. Same price. This month again! I don't know what injections they gave but I don't remember having to pay so much for my four earlier children. Just the normal injections. Now I don't have a clue what the injection was all about. Don't even remember if I ever agree to it. Sigh...... Sent the car for repair. The bill? RM2000. Wow! Money is flowing out like the water from a fountain. Sigh...... Had a quick look at motorcycle shop. Saw the scooter by Sym. Looks really attractive. I have thoughts of buying it.

Old friend

Was back at my old haunt this morning. TNB Hq in Bangsar I mean. Just to meet an old friend as a the source to renew old contacts. When you talk about the power industry in Malaysia, TNB is the place where it all began. So it is not surprising that people keep referring to TNB for anything related to it. Its the same where I'm working now. Every once in a while, I will be asked to renew old acquaintance just so that we can refer to them on certain issues related to the power industry. I thought why not pay a visit to one of my friend there. From him I can get to the others. That's what I did this morning.

Now I have discovered it

I just cannot comprehend how people can ride their bike at more than 100km/h on a busy street in KL. On the highways, yes but not on the streets of KL. Vehicles are a plenty. There's also junctions and intersections. It make it really dangerous to be speeding away on a motorbike. After nine months of riding, I still ride at my comfortable speed of 50km/h. It gets me to where I want to go, in a time that is expected. Plus, I enjoy the ride. Its one of the simple pleasures of life that I have been missing. Now I have discovered it.

Peaceful, breezy and beautiful

Cerating remains vividly in my mind. Just like Langkawi before. So was Cameron Highland, Melaka etc etc. Wish I could have more time at those places. I spent five days in Langkawi but when it was time to go back, still felt it was not enough. In Cerating, there are still many places to explore and things to do. Unfortunately, it was time to go after two nights. I am planning to go to Kuala Sungai Baru in Melaka in the near future. That's the place I like going to although these days, it has become too commercial. When I first discovered it many years ago, it still had the kampong like atmosphere, quaint, quiet, peaceful, breezy and beautiful.

Allah decides

Next Monday I will travel to Bakun again, in sha Allah. That will make it four times this month, traveling to Sarawak cause I was also in Kucing and Bintulu beside Bakun. Who knows, one day I might end up in Bakun for good. You never know what the future has in store for you. I never thought I would ever ride a bike to work but I did. I never thought I would be working again after retirement but I did. I never thought I would be having babies again but I did. I never thought I would be living in Ceras but I did. I never thought……..ah… there's so many things that happened that I never could have anticipated. So, never discount anything in the future cause you plan but Allah decides.

I take them as they come

Beautiful sunny sky this morning. Riding my bike was a pleasure. What a great start to the day. Hopefully I can finalize many things today. The work is piling up. Many things to be done. Many things to be decided. Many many things still up in the air. Never thought I would be in this position at fifty seven years of age. I always thought at this age, I would be sitting on a lazy chair somewhere reading the papers or surfing the internet with nothing in the world to care about. But the truth is, here I am, grappling with never ending work in the office and bringing up babies in the house. Do I like it? Its a question I cannot answer. I planned, but God decides. So I will take them as they come, all the time remembering to be grateful always to Allah the Almighty.

Not too big!

My car has a new problem. It read 'Restraint system defective visit workshop.' I don't know what it means. From the forum in the internet, I understand it can mean anything from a faulty fan belt to just a blown fuse. Whatever it is, I dare not take the car on a long drive. I have no time to go to the workshop until next Saturday. So, meanwhile, the car will remain as it is. There will be a cost to the repair off course. I am just hoping it would not be too big!

It was okay

Been busy with work and traveling to Bintulu and Bakun lately. Was too busy to update the blog. This morning when I looked at it, wow! It's been days. Five days to be exact.
On the way to work, I knocked into a van. I was at fault I guess because I knocked his behind. Fortunately, nothing much happened. It was not serious, at least for me. I simply moved on without even so much as to take a look at the damage to the van. I think its not much. I hope its not much. Don't know what was wrong with me. Somehow I was too lax while riding. When the traffic is heavy, a second of slag can cause an accident. Alhamdulillah, for me this morning, it was okay.

Almost 5 months

Keep on going

This morning I'm back in the office for a few hours as in the afternoon I'II be flying to where else but Bintulu. Tomorrow I will head to Bakun. Will be there till Sunday when I will fly back, in aha Allah. That's has been my story the past one year. Don't know hope long this will last but I have to keep on going. Work keeps me active, my brain is working and that is good for the health. For as long as I am needed, for as long as my health allows, I will keep on working. Need to bring in the cash as well for my family.

Holiday

Finally I had the holiday. Went to Cerating in Pahang. First time ever although I have passed through the place many times before. I used to travel to Trengganu very often those days so Cerating was always on my mind but never took the opportunity to stop over until now. Quite a nice place, in Pahang but Trengganu is just a few kilometers away.

I can have that break

Next Tuesday is a public holiday. I'm taking the Monday off. That means I will have four days of break. That's quite a time considering I have been working consistently since January without any long break. Alhamdulillah, so far there's nothing going on at work that requires my presence. Two weeks ago, the situation was the same but just as I was about to take advantage of the public holiday, I found that I had to go to Bakun for a meeting. I ended up having to travel on Thursday, which was a public holiday and also on Saturday, which is an off day. This time, in aha Allah, I can have that break.

Sigh….

I have not seen Akid and Maissarah for a few days already because of the traveling and all. That is the bad thing about traveling. You don't get to spend the time with your children. It happened with my first four children. Its happening now with Akid and Maisarah. Sigh….

That could be a good thing

Back in the office since yesterday. What a trip to Sarawak it was. In three days I was in Bakun, Bintulu and finally Kucing. Its the traveling that is tiring and also the waiting at the airport. This time I experienced the first time ever, a flight being cancelled. Anyway, there's always a first time. I will be in my office for a few days then next week it will be back to Bintulu again, and Bakun. Maybe I should be seriously thinking of having my office in Bintulu! That would be just perfect I think. Midway between KL and Bakun. Yeah…that could be a good thing.

Still in Bintulu

I am safe in the hotel room now. However, it is not in Kucing. I'm still in Bintulu. The flight that was delayed was finally cancelled. So, what is there to do except to take whatever they gave you. Now, I'm in a hotel in Bintulu instead of in Kucing. The flight will be tomorrow at 8.40am. Still plenty of time to catch my meeting in the afternoon. Not bad after all although I would like to be in Kucing right now than in Bintulu.

Flight delay

Arriving at any airport, the last thing you want to hear is your flight has been delayed. Unfortunately, that's what I'm hearing at the moment. Worse still, there's no time given. How long is the delay is anybody's guess. What to do. Just make the best I can. There's nothing much to do at Bintulu airport except sit on the chair and wait. I was supposed to be at Bakun until Wednesday but suddenly had to travel to Kucing to attend a meeting meeting tomorrow. So, here I am at Bintulu airport>

Its open season

Its the season ending period. Football clubs are nervous, especially those fighting for titles. Liverpool got beaten. A. Madrid got beaten. Barcelona only managed a draw. So did Real Madrid. Chelsea couldn't score against Norwich. Its everybody's game at the moment. Looks like it will go to the wire. Tonight Liverpool will play. Will they be able to win?

Fact of fiction?

Can these be true?

Looks permanent

Was at KLIA this morning for the flight to Bintulu. As I had some spare time, decided to take a look at KLIA2. A short train ride of three minutes got me to it although the signboards to the trains were not very helpful. I had to ask around. First impression? What a contrast! Everything is big at KLIA2 compared to LCCT. Perhaps because Air Asia has not moved in yet, that's why it looks empty. Its big, definitely. More convenient for sure unlike LCCT where everything is cramped. Many shops as well! Nice modern airport. Looks permanent!

Exercise again

Looks like this month I will be in and out of the plane. Just reached home from Bakun about an hour ago. In the next two weeks, two more trips have been planned. That will take me towards the final third of the month. Maybe during that time, I might have to travel again! If that is so, it will mean four trips in a month. Wow! That's real tough. In Bakun two days ago, I climbed up the stairs after going down below to have a look at the plant. I never had this before but this time, I panted. It surprised me! For sure I have not been exercising as much as I would like. Too busy with work and off course the babies. I really need to exercise again.

How it will turn out

Back in Cheras after a three days trip to Bakun. I had to travel on Thursday, labour day, but what to do. Work required me to be in Bakun on Friday. Anyway, I'm safely back home, for two days only however. I'II be traveling again on Monday and yes, you guessed it right, to Bakun. Will come back on Thursday. Go to the office on Friday for a day, then I plan to take Monday off so that I will have four days of break. Taking advantage of Wesak day on Tuesday. That's my plan. Let's see how it will turn out.
