I have no complain

This is my fourth time in Sarawak over the last three months. It is not going to stop at four either in the next few weeks. Already I know I have to be here again in the middle of next month. The way things are going, I might find myself in Sarawak more often than I would like it to be. Anyway, that's the way it is and that's the way it is going to be. What can I say? Its my work! I have no complain.

In Bintulu

Arrived Bintulu about six thirty this evening. Finally after a two hours flight, I don't have to endure another three hours of ride in a vehicle to go to Bakun. This time its just Bintulu, full stop. A fifteen minutes drive from the airport took me to my hotel. To my surprise, the room is pleasant, cosy and beautiful. Over here in Sarawak, the election fever is not as high as back in the peninsula. Perhaps its because they are battling just the parliamentary seats only. Still, they are important seats, no matter what. A win here can mean winning the country!

No doubt about it

Its getting nearer and nearer. The day is coming. It will come. It will definitely come. Its inevitable. Just wait. It won't be long now! If we can wait fifty five years, what is one week. In one week, A new day will dawn. A new beginning. No doubt about it.

Thoughts

There's a Dracula in Luis Suarez. He is a great little player but he is also an enigma. In the heat of the moment, he can be unpredictable. He will do anything, including biting. It seems that biting is a very popular way of expressing your anger. Mike Tyson did it once, biting away a mouthful of ear of his opponent. Cantona is more conventional. He attacked a fan with a Kung Fu style kick. Off course the more common one is to use the hands like in a boxing match. Or if you are find that you are at the losing end in a fight, why not plant a kick right between the legs.

Will they

Its nice to be at home, sitting at my desk, blogging. Been a long time since I have been able to do that. Ever since I started working again, time has become a precious commodity. Day in, day out, its to the office and back. I hardly have time for anything else. Only on weekends I'm free but then all too soon, the weekend is suddenly over. Its just over a week away from election day. Gonna be an interesting night come 5th of May. The results will be coming thick and fast, or will they? I'm sure you know what I mean!

Let's wait and see

Its 7.15am on a Friday morning. I'm back at my usual hangout before going to the office. Its been four days since I last went to the office cause I have been busy at Bakun. Lucky thing nowadays there are sms, emails etc etc. As such, I am quite aware of what's going even when I'm away. The election fever is hotting up. So far I see no reason to doubt my believe that a new government will be formed come 5th May. Anyway, let's wait and see.

Back to KL

At Bintulu airport waiting for the flight home after two days in Bakun. As usual, I never get to see Bintulu except the airport. It has been that way every time. Maybe next week I'II be able to see Bintulu. Received e mail I have to attend a meeting on Tuesday in Bintulu. That means flying home today and flying back to Bintulu on Monday. Just the Friday and the weekend for a little bit of rest. After that its back to the hectic world of work. Funny thing is, I don't feel the blues that much this time. I am taking it all in my stride. The two years break has done me a world of good.

The end of an era

First it was Barcelona. Then it was the turn of Real Madrid. Its unbelievable. Astonishing. The two giants of European football humiliated at the highest level of competition. Off course it need not be said that Bayern Munich, the slayer of Barcelona, is no kid themselves. But Dortmund did the same to Real. Can it be that that the dominance of Spainish clubs are coming to an end soon? Barcelona has look vulnerable in recent times. Bayern Munich has been in three of the last four finals. They could be the next giant of club football.

Bakun again

Its the Golden Lounge once again. Waiting for the flight to Bintulu on my way to Bakun. Left the house very early in the morning as usual as I don't want to be caught in a jam. Ended up spending hours in the lounge as my flight is still two hours away. That's how it is now. Bakun is fast becoming my second home. Its deep in the interior of Sarawak. One day when I have the time, I would like to explore more of the areas surrounding Bakun. For now, I have to be contend with KLIA, Bintulu Airport, Bakun, Bintulu Airport and KLIA again.

Two contrasting fortunes

One club is in ecstasy while another club is in the doldrums. That's the story of two Malaysian own football clubs in United Kingdom. Cardiff is finally going to the premier league after four years of heart breaking misses. Meanwhile QPR is going down, relegated after a season to forget. They spent big money. Bought expensive and well known players but all to no avail. As I've said before, they bought players who are a has been. Players past their prime. Other clubs let them go as they have outlived their usefulness. QPR, in their wisdom or otherwise, bought them.  A fatal mistake, no doubt.

New mosque

There's a new mosque in town. Yesterday I had the opportunity to pray there, twice in fact. It was filled to the brim during the evening prayer. Maybe some of them were like me, curious and wanting to try out this new mosque. I saw some familiar faces, people from the surau that I frequent. The new mosque is beautiful, airy and big. Its right in town, very convenient.

Parent knows best

Hello! Just want to tell you I'm almost a year's old. Only ten more days. Now I can walk already, albeit slowly. Very soon I'II be able to run. My parent has put barriers everywhere around the house. I can't go here, I can't go there. Its very frustrating. For my safety I heard they say. Don't know if I agree with them but then, parent knows best. Can't argue with that!

A no brainer

Its downright disappointing to hear there are three, four cornered fights everywhere. Even more so when they are happening in Sabah and Sarawak. The two states are the keys to the treasure. Fighting among themselves will not get them anywhere nearer to it. Why can't they get it into their heads that what they are doing is suicidal! Its elementary my friend. A no brainer! With the way things are, it looks like the wait will continue, for at least another five years!

The time has come

Today is D day. The countdown starts today. Where will I be at 9am this morning? In Lembah Pantai? In Permatang Pauh? In Marang? In Gelang Patah? No. Unfortunately at none of these places. I have to be at a car workshop in Bangi. My car is in need of repair. Anyway I'II catch the happenings later. With the internet, there's no worry! All information will be available at my finger tips. The time has come. Ini Kalilah!

have to wait

Thought I'd go back a bit early today but when I got to the car park, I saw the cars all in a long queue, patiently waiting their turn to get out of the car park. I said I don't want to be in the queue. Might as well go to the Mamak stall and have 'teh tarik' instead. At least I can surf the internet and maybe write a thing or two in my blog! That's what I'm doing now. Maybe in a few minutes I'II try again. Hopefully, the queue is over by then and I can have a smooth passage out of the car park.

Nomination day

Tomorrow is nomination day! The day we all have been waiting for is finally going to be here. Some big fights are already shaping up. Its going to be very exciting. This is the one election where the chances for both sides is 50/50. Gone are the days when the oppositions were stupid. They fought each other as well as the ruling party. How to win? One man put a change to all that. He manage to get them to be together against all the odds. At one time I was thinking it was impossible but then I forgot the power of Allah. He is the Almighty!

Don't know what it will bring forth

After the consistent rain last week, its the consistent heat this week. Everyday I can feel it. Its so hot on some days I even sweat in my air condition office. But it does one thing good. There's no traffic jam. This week I have been reaching home just about an hour's drive, unlike last week when the traffic jam was terrible. Almost two hours at time before I reach home. Anyway, today is Friday already. The week is ending and anew week will begin. Don't know what it will bring forth.

Lets see

More on that Shah Alam candidate. Its the biggest mistake made by the powers that be that put him there. If before they had a slim chance of winning, now its gone forever. In one stroke of the pen, the chances of the opposition has suddenly increase tremendously. Good! Let him be there. Its a great move by the ruling party, for the opposition. A real blunder of immense proportion. It is as if somebody up there wants them to lose. So...let's see.

More than ever

Can't believe it when they put him in Shah Alam because they think he is a winnable candidate. They must have gone bonkers! If he is their idea of a winnable candidate, then I'm sorry. Its the pits really. Nothing can be worse. Perhaps its a perfect reflection of what's in their mind. So detached. Can't see the wrong for what it is. That's why its time to send them into retirement. More than ever now.......Yeah.....

Monday

Its Monday morning. Back to work for me. Woke up as early as five in the morning to get ready for work. Had a quick glanced the Masters. They are still battling it out, the two Aussies, Scott and Day. As for Tiger, grinding as usual but his hope quickly fading in the sun. Mcllory? He lost it on the third day, blown by the wind. Man City beat Chelsea to reach the FA cup final. Another chance to win a trophy this season. Oh....its already 5.15am. I better have my bath soon.....

Perhaps its time

This weekend I spent the time mostly sleeping. Need to recover the energy before a new week begins. Its not the work that is taking its toll, its the drive to and from work. That is more taxing. Last week was worse. It was raining almost every evening. Everybody knows what the rain will do to the traffic. It will create massive traffic jam. I am thinking seriously of buying a motorcycle. I have a motorcycle license. I have had it for over thirty years already. Perhaps its time to take it out of the drawer.

The final run

One week to nomination day. The long wait is finally coming to an end. Its a sprint to the finish now. Can't wait to cast my vote. This time I am predicting a close fight all the way but the reign of the ruling party is going to be over. Its time to send them into retirement. Let's give somebody else a try. BN has been too long in power, they are bankrupt in ideas. Maybe a new government will do the country a lot of good.

Wow!

One over at the Masters! He's only fourteen. What a feat. On the second day he shot three over but made the cut. Wow! Must be real talented this kid from China. But there's still a long way to go. He might get lost along the way. Remember one Michele something Wee. She's all but gone now from the scene. Still playing but most of the time ending at the wrong end of the list. At fourteen, she was a star, a teenage prodigy, even contending in majors. I just hope this new kid on the block manage to keep his head and reach his full potential.

What to do?

From the 19th floor that is my office, I can see the vehicles below almost at a standstill. Both ways, to KL and to PJ. Its the rain off course that is causing it. How am I to go home? I can't unless I want to be in the car for hours and hours, moving inch by inch. Yesterday I was in the same situation. Don't want to be caught again today. Most probably I have to wait till about nine in the evening. Even then I cannot be certain. What to do.......?

But not now

Everybody's saying it's going to be at the end of this month. I don't know but I hope it is cause I can't wait to see the change. Its been too long. Its time they retire. Let somebody else do it. I'm sure the new people will have better ideas. As it is, I already see a lot of things being copied. Why didn't they think about it before. It needed a jolt from someone before they want to do it. They have been taking us for a ride all these while, thinking we are all stupid. They might be right before but not now!

Take them in my stride

Yesterday was terrible. One and a half hours to reach home. I could have reached Ipoh. All it needed was just another half an hour. Even then, I managed to do it in one and a half hours was because I drove along the motorcycle lane. If I had done it the normal way, it could have been three hours or more. Terrible! Anyway, I have accepted it. That's the way it is and that's the way it is going to be. Just take them in my stride.

Keeping me company

It takes about forty minutes to drive to work and about an hour to get back from work. That's almost two hours everyday in the car. Its terribly boring no doubt if not for the songs of Opick. That's what keeping me company all these while. Listening to his songs keeps me awake, alert and away from the traffic jam, in my mind at least. I just drive, follow the cars in front of me and soon I'm already at my destination. Frankly, can't get enough of his songs. I love listening to them.

I can still run

Very quickly the weekend is over. Then very quickly the weekdays are over. Then the month is over. Then the year is over. Wow! Suddenly I am fifty six  years old going on to fifty seven. Can't believe it I am this old. Days, weeks and months goes by so very quickly. All those years, some things have changed but some remain the same. I am grateful to Allah that I am still as healthy as can be. I can't run as fast as before, as long as before and as far as before but the that's only to be expected. The fact is, I can still run.

it boggles the mind

I thought bringing down the price of cars would be a stupid move! It would bankrupt the country. See who's promising to bring it down now. I am really confuse. When some body else promise it, they say it would bankrupt the country. When they promise the same thing, suddenly it becomes a great move. What hypocrisy! It boggles the mind. Don't know how long more we have to live with such things.

Soon....I hope

Nowadays I spent the weekend looking at all my bills, loan payments etc etc. Weekdays I'm just too tied up with work I don't have the time. So, on weekend, where I can do it with the internet, I'II do so but there are a few that I still need to go to the banks. Thought when I retire, the payments that I have to dish out at the end of the month will be minimal but how wrong was I. It not only didn't become less, it grew! Don't know when it will all end.......soon I hope.

Where's the fairness?

More than three hours of live TV to present theirs while the other side will only be given 10 minutes. Even that it will be recorded not live. Where's the fairness?

Vote now

The end is near. That's for sure. That's why they have been delaying it because they know they will not come back to their offices after that. A new day is dawning. I look forward to a new and vibrant Malaysia, with renewed hope and aspiration. The country has been going down the drain, slowly but surely but now, there is hope. The people need to know the truth and vote base on the truth, not on lies and half truth. Let's hope this kind of politics will be gone forever after this!

Things have changed

Finally, after months of waiting, the fight is on. What a very very long wait! The present government has already expired, so to speak, because the last election was held on 8th of March, more than five years ago. This has never happened before. I believe this is going to be the most exciting elections ever. This time there's a clear fight between two sides, not as previously when the opposition was in disarray. Not even in 2008 although that was the beginning of things to come. They fight among themselves as well as the government. That's why BN has had it easy all these years. But now things have changed........

Who knows?

When I was working the first time around, I seldom work late. When working time is up, I'II be among the first to leave the office. I'm one of those who believes that one shouldn't stay in the office more than necessary. Finish your work within office hours, then go home. There's more to life than office. However, in my second time of working after my retirement, I now almost always stay a bit later than office hours before going home. Partly its because of work and partly its because of the traffic. So far it has been that way. Later on, who knows?

Early morning routine

I arrived very early for work. By seven in the morning I'm already at the mamak coffee shop near my workplace. This place has got Wi Fi so its not so bad a place to be. At the car park where I park my car, I noticed some people sleeping in the car. Just like me, they must have left their house very early to avoid the jam, then steal some sleep in their car once they arrived. Me, I can't sleep anymore once I wake up in the morning at about 5 am. At the mamak coffee shop, I will take my breakfast, read the papers, serve the internet, write my blog etc etc. At about 7.45am, I would then walk to my office to begin my day.

On the road

Immediately after coming back from Sarawak, I was back on the road to K.Kangsar for a wedding. Drove all the way. Thought I'd stay the night but then I decided against it. It would mean traveling back to KL on Sunday and that is a big no because there'll be thousands of other people driving back to KL on that day. Its the last day of the school holidays. People are coming back from their holidays. The highways will be choked. Anyway, we spent some time in Ipoh at the Lost World of Tambun before driving back to KL.
