There's a part of Johor Baru that is different. Their car wash shops are opened twenty four hours. Not one but many of them. All are situated along this road the name I cannot recall, beside Hotel Selesa. They are most active at night. That's when cars after cars, some from Singapore, stopped by to be washed while their owners enjoy a quiet drink at one of the many eateries along the same road. Whenever I'm in Johor, join the crowd I would!

Money woes
Its never enough with money. No matter how much you have, you always want more. Money have a very significant role in our life but unfortunately, how many of us ever learned anything about money in school? Almost none! It is something we are expected to know, just like that. Out of thin air, maybe! Ever wonder why people run into mountains of debts or go bankrupt?
Age is catching up
I was up in Pulau Pinang, down in Johor Baru and was in Klang for a day or two. In between I managed to steal a jog. Wow! What a week it has been. My body is feeling it, the tiredness I mean. For sure it has a lot to with the age as well. Read in the papers today about a former body builder who collapsed while playing football! That serves as a reminder..........

The battle rages on
The battle in still going on in Japan. Even after two weeks, the situation continues to be very volatile. I salute the unsung heroes fighting it out against the unseen enemy, risking their lives in the process. Many battles have already been fought. There will surely be many more battles to be fought but I sincerely believe, eventually, the war will be won with minimal casualties.

I can only dream!
This morning I drove to Seremban to attend a meeting. What a dream it was. Even during peak time, traffic was flowing smoothly. No jam! Two weeks ago I was in K Trengganu. I experienced the same thing. Traffic flowed smoothly even during the peak hours. No jam! Now I know what we KL folks have been missing all along. Free flowing traffic!
Fake pilots
I have heard and seen all kind of fakes before but this one really blew out my mind. Fake pilots.....yes, you read it right! fake pilots! This is real and it happened in India. Five have been unmasked so far. It started when one of them landed a plane on its nose. Investigation revealed a pilot with fake license. Further investigations led to the arrest of the other four. I wonder how many more fake pilots are out there waiting to be discovered? Its scary!

Morning jam
This morning the rain was quite heavy as I was preparing to go to work. Lucky thing it was just drizzling by the time I got out of the house. As expected, whenever it rain, the roads were all in a gridlock. I was stuck for quite a while, almost missing my clock in time. Lucky thing I normally leave the house very early in the morning. Cannot imagine what it must have been for those who leaves a bit latter. Must have been a nightmare!

Undone in two weeks
Its the same old story for Arsenal. Every season they will be fighting on all fronts ...... until the season nears its end. That's when everything will start to unravel, one by one. Over a period of two or three weeks, they will get knocked out of all the cup competitions while the league will be beyond their reach by then. This season, last season, the season before last and so on, the story has been the same.
Crazy!
He must be the worst of all mankind. He has been accused of doing everything and anything that is unbecoming of a man. One needs to stretch the imagination beyond the realms of reality to believe that a person can be all of what this man has been accused of. Yet they keep on coming! It will be interesting to play the guessing game with what else he will be accused of after this latest one!

Its moving....at a snail's pace!
Twenty four hours after the UN resolution, the world is still meeting. Endless meetings here, there and everywhere! I guess that's the way it has to be. Even in the course of my work, meetings can sometimes be a source of frustrations especially when there's too many meetings but so little action. I just hope the people that matters can end their meetings soon so that real action can begin to end this carnage!

Fifty four going on fifty five
I'm already approaching the end of the longest phase of my life. This phase started more than thirty years ago when I was just twenty three years old. Wow! Thirty years! Such a long time ago. How time have passed me by and suddenly, I am about to join the ranks of the senior citizen. Find it hard to believe but believe I must cause I am fifty four going on fifty five. Yes... fifty four going on fifty five!

Their greatest fight yet!
The Fukushima Daichi power plant was well prepared for the earthquake it seems. As soon as it came, the nuclear reactors stopped automatically as a safety precaution. However, they never anticipated the tsunami or perhaps not a tsunami so severe. It flooded the power plant, rendering the back up system useless. Without the emergency power, the cooling system couldn't function. That was the beginning of it all. As Japan struggles to contain the radiation, the world is watching anxiously. The Japanese, with all their ingenuity, are facing their greatest fight yet!
Its a massacre!
While all eyes are focusing on the events playing out in Japan, the massacre in Libya is continuing unabated. Civilians are being subjected to relentless bombardment without any care. Meantime the world is still debating.....and debating. By the time its over, its water under the bridge!

Alhamdulillah
Allah I wanna thank you
I wanna thank you for all the things that you've done
You've done for me through all my years I've been lost
You guided me from all the ways that were wrong
Indeed you give me hope
Allah I wanna thank you
I wanna thank you for all the things that you've done
You've done for me through all my years I've been lost
You guided me from all the ways that were wrong
I wanna thank you for bringing me home

Its still a thin line
As Japan struggles, the world watches. Latest news, the level of radiation has come down a bit from earlier dangerous levels but it is still very much a touch and go situation. Anything is still possible. The whole world is praying and hoping that the Japanese will be able to come out tops against this adversity except for the tasteless few who saw it fit to make jokes out of this disaster!

Maher Zain
I have suddenly become a fan of Maher Zain. His songs are beautiful. The melodies are easy but catching while the lyrics are simple but meaningful. Listening to them, my heart is deeply touched.
The next twenty four hours in crucial
The Japanese pride themselves in having the best defensive system in the world against earthquake. Unfortunately, the tsunami is something else. Its anxious time now, struggling with the nuclear power plants that were hit by the tsunami. The next twenty four hours is crucial. Having worked in power plants before, I know what its like to be in a situation like this and I can tell you, its not a pleasant feeling. I feel for them. I hope they will overcome this setback and prevent an even bigger disaster from occurring.

The right path
Life in this world is short and temporary. The real life is in the hereafter. Its forever. That's where our soul will go, while the body rot in the graves. The path to heaven is clear and so is the path to hell. That's what the Quran has been telling us. So, for all of us, the choice is obvious but why are most of us still choosing the wrong path?
Nuclear setback?
The Three Mile Island incident in the US brought the nuclear power technology to a standstill. For thirty years, nuclear power plants were a no no, especially in the US. Only now they are coming back, building nuclear power plants in earnest, not only in the US but the world over. With the happenings in Japan now, will there be a repeat? My take......I believe the plants in Japan will be able to overcome their problems! I pray for that!
Tsunami Disaster!
A Tsunami of epic proportion has hit Japan. I couldn't believed my eyes when I saw it on TV. The waves swept through the coastal areas of Japan, destroying everything and anything. Just wish I can do something to help.......Of immediate concern must certainly be the nuclear power plants that have been hit. I pray that the Japanese people, resolute as they are, can overcome this latest disaster.

Action please......please
What is the world doing? Standing by and watch while the killings are going on in Libya. This is really crazy. People are being killed at this very moment while the world is having meetings and meetings and meetings and meetings.....till the cows come home....I suppose......sigh!

What can I say?
What can I say? Arsenal were outplayed, outfoxed, outnumbered and outscored. Barcelona were at their brilliant best while Arsenal were always one step behind. As for Messi, let him play his game at your own peril as Arsenal found out.

Tell me!
One thing that has baffled me time and again is that whenever it rains, the roads will be in a gridlock. I really cannot understand why it should be so! All things being equal, except for the rain which is definitely not blocking the roads, why should there be traffic jams?
Match of the day
Its the Champion League once again. The match of the day is surely Barcelona vs Arsenal. Two teams playing almost the same kind of football, but with contrasting results. One has been winning trophies after trophies while the other has been without one for almost six years. So who will win tonight? My thoughts.....everything depends on Messi. Cut him out and Arsenal is the winner!

There are bridges still to cross
At fifty four going on to fifty five, I thought I have seen it all, gone through it all and done it all but have I? Life can bring many surprises and every once in a while, the unexpected happened, enough to remind you that as long as you are living, the wheel will always keeps on turning. And when we come to a bridge, we have to cross it!

Day of Rage
In solidarity with the thousands of ordinary people across the Middle East who are braving tremendous odds in their quest for democracy, I joined them today in their 'Day of Rage'. The road ahead is long and winding, bumpy with full of potholes but when there's a will, there's a way! Insha Allah!

Still love my football
I wanted to do half the distance that I normally do when jogging today but I got carried away. In the end, I went the full distance. Actually tomorrow I have been penciled for a football game. For somebody my age, exerting energy strenuously for two consecutive days is certainly not on. That's why the need to take it easy today. Anyway, I saw the list of players and my name is right at the very top. I wondered why but then I knew. Its so obvious. I'm the oldest, by miles!

Its all system go!
At long last, the internet in my house is back to normal. Phew! What a relief. No more one second okay and the next second kaput. At least I hope so, taking the past two hours as an indication. Now I can get on with my surfing without any interruption!
